Gwen assumed as Interim IFRC Deputy Regional Director for Asia Pacific on October 1, 2020 in addition to her role as the IFRC Head of East Asia. She is also a Steering Committee Member of the IFRC Asia Pacific Disaster Resilience Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and Adviser of the International Academy of Red Cross and Red Crescent in Suzhou, China.
Prior to joining the IFRC, Gwen served as the Secretary General of the Philippine Red Cross from 2009 to 2016. She was also the IFRC Interim Head of Country Office in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea from October 2017 to March 2018.
Gwen developed her passion toward the areas of public health, disaster preparedness and response, partnership and resource development, organizational development.
Gwen is from the Philippines and her humanitarian actions can be traced back to when she was a Red Cross Youth Volunteer during her student life. In 2012, Gwen was conferred with an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humanities by the Lyceum of Northwestern University in the Philippines. In 2015, Gwen received the Florence Nightingale Award, which is the highest International distinction for a professional nurse to recognize great courage and devotion to victims of armed conflict or natural disasters.

Christian is the founder of Family Legacy Asia, a process consulting firm based in Hong Kong. He assists family enterprises around Asia with family governance, succession, and family learning & development.
He facilitates family meetings and helps families to form and implement family councils, family constitutions and family policies, often in the context of transition planning. His philosophy is that such structures work best when based on understanding the unique culture and relationships within the family. He also acts as the Chief Learning Officer for two different families.
Christian originally qualified and practiced as a solicitor in South Australia from 1990 to 1994. He moved to Hong Kong in late 1994 joining PricewaterhouseCoopers and became a partner and head of their Trust & Private Client Group. In July 2002 he joined JPMorgan Private Bank to head the bank’s Wealth Advisory team for Asia.
He left JPMorgan and founded Family Legacy Asia in July 2008 to provide Asian families with independent advice on family governance & succession.
In June 2017, Christian received the award for Leading Individual (Advisor) at the WealthBriefingAsia 2017 Awards, Singapore.
